Unsettled weather conditions will persist in the southeastern quadrant of the nation on Tuesday as a frontal boundary extends from the Mid-Atlantic through the Southern Plains with waves of low pressure. Moisture pooling along this system will produce rain and thunderstorms in these regions through the afternoon. Strong storms from parts of southeastern Texas through the southeastern states and into the southern Ohio Valley may turn severe with damaging wind gusts and even tornadoes. This system is expected to transition by Tuesday evening, extending from the Mid-Atlantic through the Ohio Valley as a warm front and extending from the Mid-Mississippi Valley through the Southern Plains as a cold front.

Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday, November 15, 2011. A strong cold front will continue moving through the eastern third of the country on Tuesday, providing the country 1/4's most active weather. The most intense weather is expected to develop in the Lower Mississippi Valley where strong thunderstorms may become severe. There is a moderate risk of severe weather in Louisiana and surrounding states, so residents should monitor local weather conditions and be prepared to take necessary steps to protect life and property. Some of the severe weather may include severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Active weather will continue in parts of the West on Monday as a storm system passes quickly through the Great Basin. The system will maintain a mix of rain and high elevation snow showers in the Great Basin and Southwest through the afternoon. Storm total snowfall is expected to range up to 6 to 12 inches through Monday, with higher totals in the higher elevations. Snow will move into parts of the Southern and Central Rockies by Monday evening. Behind this system, high pressure will move into the Pacific Northwest and California with drier weather conditions.

Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday, August 30, 2011. While no notable precipitation will fall on the Northeast due to a high pressure system moving over the area, the area will still receive attention based on the torrential rainfall that it has received the past few days. Hurricane Irene dumped over 15 inches of rain on many areas from North Carolina through Maine and it will take several days for this water to make its way downstream. In the meantime, flooding of rivers and dams are likely throughout the area, with New England being the hardest hit.
